Mechanical pig includes metal body, disc and cleaning parts. The main material of the disc is artificial rubber. It plays a guiding and sealing role. The sweeping piece is made of stainless steel wire brush or artificial rubber blade. Several bypass holes are reserved at the top of the front of the pig to control the pig’s traveling speed in the pipeline. The wax removal effect of mechanical pig is better. It can scrape away hard wax deposits. The disadvantage is that the structure is relatively complex. Therefore, it has poor passing capacity for deformed pipes and obstacles.
◆ The main material of foam plastic pig is polyurethane foam. The head is streamlined. The tail is saucer shaped. The outer surface is wrapped with a spiral metal belt or an elastic polymer belt. The pig has good propulsion and trafficability. However, its wear resistance and wax removal effect are not as good as those of mechanical pig.
